The Divine Appearance

Emergence from the Ocean of Milk

According to Hindu tradition, Lord Dhanwanthari appeared during the Samudra Manthan, the great churning of the Ocean of Milk.

The Devas and Asuras churned the cosmic ocean in search of Amrita, the sacred nectar of immortality.

During this divine event, Lord Dhanwanthari emerged from the ocean carrying the vessel containing Amrita. His appearance symbolised the arrival of divine healing and the knowledge required to preserve health and life.
